It's really hard to imagine that this gem was originally a self-published book. Seriously, Anthony, did you query agents and they rejected Vaelin's epic tale?
I wasn't surprised when I knew that Anthony, Sir Anthony, spent six years or more to finish Blood Song. You can easily sense the passion and the heart of the author in his attention to every detail, every plot twist. The plot in particular was masterfully executed. To me, it was one of the main strength points of Blood Song. The puzzle had a lot of missing pieces, and Anthony was allowing us to find those pieces one by one in a perfect pace until the very end of the book. That's why I was intrigued until the last page although, I must admit, the first half of the book was my favorite. I couldn't help thinking of Hogwarts while I was reading about the school of The Sixth Order. Now we have another Hogwarts...for warriors.
