Immortal Unchained
by Lynsay Sands
I have been reading the Argeneau series for a long time. A few of the more recent have been a bit (or really, really) repetitive. Overall, I felt sort of "eh" about them. I didn't hate them by any means, and they didn't dissuade me from reading the rest of the series (*cough*Laurell K. Hamilton*cough*). However, I didn't find myself reading them in one night or regretting that I had to set them aside. That was not the case for Immortal Unchained. This book was so unlike those sort of plodding last few books that I could not put it down. A friend who also reads the books had some trouble with the first few scenes (warning: graphic), but I quickly saw the Island of Dr. Moreau thing going on and I was fascinated. I can't wait to keep reading what I assume will be a new multi-book plot line.
