To Live & Die in Dixie by Mary Kay Andrews, Mary Kay Andrews

4.0

Don't go into this book thinking it's a gentle cozy because it was written by Mary Kay Andrews. Yes, Callahan owns a cleaning service. But she also was a cop then a private investigator. She would like nothing better than to run the cleaning service and clean houses, but she can't help but get involved in investigating.
There is some salty language, saltier than cozies tend to be. Not that I am delicate by any stretch of the imagination, but I wanted to advise.
This was a really good story of more than the mystery of the suspicious death of a young woman in the house that Callahan's crew has been hired to clean. There's also a suspicious house fire and negligence, and someone is after Callahan.
Relationships figure strongly here and I like the characters. I like Mary Kay Andrews books in all the guises.
I can recommend this book, series and author.
