I'll start on a positive note: the writing wasn't horrifying. At moments, it's quite poetic and pleasant. Still not enough to earn more stars from me. The characters are flat, the 'new input' is hardly original and I never had an 'ooh, interesting' moment during my read. Quite the contrary: most of the time, it was predictable, with a slow buildup that fizzled out to a disappointing climax.
