I liked this spin-off much better than I liked the main series, but it was still a little too cringey for my taste. While you could tell there was a significant time gap and much writing experience gained between the writing of the last Beautiful Creatures novel and this one, the characters are still so one dimensional. Even Ridley, whom I remember loving, is the most stereotypical character. The plot is interesting, but hopefully becomes more fleshed out in the next novel.
