Beren and Lúthien by J.R.R. Tolkien
2.0

I can’t recommend this to anyone unless it’s to appreciate the art pages. The story of Berrn and Luthien is not even told in a single coherent portion of the book. Instead, extracts from different drafts Tolkien wrote over the years, with interruptions for commentary from his son, are presented out of chronological and narrative order. Some of these are written as poetry, some are in prose, but rather than including either format in its uninterrupted form this book switched between the two each chapter.
