I wasn't expecting much from this to be honest, but was slightly optimistic due to how much I love Tangled. I guess it was nice to get some context for that story, but other than that I didn't enjoy much about this book. To be fair, a large part of my issues with it came from the fact that I didn't realise how important it was to read the series in order, so found it difficult to follow. But other than that, I just didn't think it was written very well. The storytelling came almost entirely from long, unrealistically drawn out conversations between the sisters which is something I'm learning that I really dislike in books. The last few chapters were almost entirely just the movie 'Tangled' being retold in a way that didn't bring any more excitement and as much as I love the movie that's not what I wanted from this book. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this book but if you do want to read it, I'd definitely advise getting to the first four in the series first.
