James Baldwin's writing is so beautiful, sadly I didn't really like the story nor did I like the characters very much. I had a real issue with all the 'beating women' going on and David... You got on my nerves, David. Some parts were so beautiful to read, some others harder due to the intensity of the novel and that's the real beauty of Baldwin's words. I'm still very intrigued to read more of James Baldwin's work, even though I had quite great expectations about Giovanni's Room that I didn't meet through my reading.
