Still Alice
by Lisa Genova
Great book, but a heavy one. I cried multiple times reading this book. You really feel for all of the characters in the story and how her diagnosis affects them in different ways. You want to shake sense into people and then you have to remind yourself that it's just a book. Lisa Genova does such a great job showing you the mental decline of someone with A.D. Her use of Alice's internal monologue to really make the reader grasp how this disease works. She also did a great job explaining how other aspects of your mental health decline, like spatial reasoning. Great read, just make sure you have some tissues on hand.
