I REALLY wanted to like this book, but unfortunately, it was not for me. I think this book could have gone through more development and editing before being published. The world and magic felt severely underdeveloped. I also found myself lost very often in the book. Like one moment, the characters were somewhere and the next, they were somewhere else, with little description as to what was going on. This book was a little too fast-paced, and I feel like not enough explanation was done.
I also did not really care for any of the characters. The FMC was very unlikeable and childish. The MMC was okay, but also just seemed to be there for the romance tropes. I didn’t really believe or care for their romance. Also, it felt like this book was made solely for the romance, with the fantasy added in there when it suited the romance.
I wish we would have seen more dragons too. We hardly get to see them at all, and a majority of the book, they are seen only in flashbacks. They were a big part of why I was so excited for this book. The entire book felt soooo tropey and the plot and characters were severely underdeveloped.
Overall, I most likely won’t finish this book. It was a somewhat enjoyable read, but I didn’t care enough to continue reading.
