The Only Black Girls in Town
by Brandy Colbert
A story about how two girls who become friends end up trying to solve a mystery.
I liked the overall message of the book, but it just tried to do too much. I feel like this book tried to pull off what the Parker Inheritance was able to do with solving a mystery from the 50s/60s. The author should have just focused on the girls budding friendship and the unfortunate discrimination they faced daily. That is a much more interesting and authentic story than let's solve a random mystery.
