deeply disturbing book, it's been a long time since i've seen the movie so i feel like i came into it mostly fresh. the descriptions of the demon and its "fits" are so visceral and graphic, it really amps up the discomfort and terror of the setting. the sense of hopelessness while regan's condition worsens really keeps the pages turning - it's kind of like a trainwreck you can't look away from. loved this book so much, it is rightfully lauded as a horror classic.
