The Paper Palace
by Miranda Cowley Heller
Well written book about the power of shame, the life long effects of family set at an idyllic , although slightly rotting seaside property. I suppose the property, with it’s beautiful private and large clear pond, but falling apart structures invaded time to time by insects parallel the characters lives. Survivors of incest, teen rape may find healing and recognition in this story.
Although well written, it does drag a bit, IMHO, about three quarters through the book.
