I've dabbled in dark romance a tiny bit and wanted to try some more, and I heard Lark's books were a good place to start. Omg, I ate this up! I'm here for the "touch her and die" trope and no one is more surprised than me. 😂 And I laughed and giggled and swooned at this book, a book about the mafia. I was not expecting that at all. I'm immediately picking up the next book in this series. I loved the banter between Aida and Callum. I loved the family loyalty from both sides. And I loved that there was character art throughout the book. I'm a visual person, so those helped tie the story together. The only thing I didn't like about this book was the politics, and I think it's just because I wasn't expecting it, so I didn't care for it.
