A Husband's Regret by Natasha Anders
3.0

Good, but lacking the depth of the 1st one.

Ok, I admit, I like myself an anti-hero. The meaner the better! I'm a sucker for that bad boy/ jerk type. So, when I read the blurb for "The unwanted wife", I was excited to read it. While the basic plot of the 1st book was very reminiscent of a classic HP, I was shocked by the level of feeling Natasha Anders was able to bring out in that book. I literally sobbed. Buckets. And yet I still found myself rooting for the HEA. So, when I saw there was going to be a sequel I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Unfortunately, while the plot has that old school feel similar to the 1st, it never gets past the shallow setup of a classic HP and I actually found myself wishing it were shorter. The pacing was a serious issue for me. The "big misunderstanding" was the sole issue driving the plot and once that was over all that was left was a lot of groveling ( a lot)on the heros part. Too much for me.

I guess I just like my men a little more ruthless. *shrug*
