The Real-Town Murders by Adam Roberts

3.0

I appreciate the intellect that is on display here from Roberts and the world-building is excellent. I totally buy his vision of a near future dominated by an immersive successor to the internet in a dystopian way. The take on the locked room mystery is also very good in terms of the plot. It's just the tediousness of the way the plot pans out that I don't like: the protagonist constantly getting in danger and escaping in the nick of time. I find all that 'exciting' stuff in books (and films) incredibly boring.
