one of the few jacqueline wilson books that has held up really well with age. i re-read this recently and found myself very much enjoying it. april's story of being abandoned and shunted through care homes was revealed at just the right pace, and the ending
of her finding not her mother but the man who discovered her in the bin and finding solace in that
was a nice surprise.
