Leah is a mother to three young children and her husband is opening up a restaurant with his brothers, so he is always busy.  Leah doesn't get along with her mother in-law and feels like her sister in-law (& good friend) is getting too close to the mother in-law.  Leah starts thinking about what her life would've been if she hadn't gotten married or had kids.  All of this turmoil leads her to start drinking and her drinking gets out of control and her life is starting to fall apart.

I listened to the audio and thought that it was a good production.  When I started this book I had it in my mind that this was a memoir.  It really didn't make any sense to me because the writing seemed memoir-ish, but was reading like fiction.  I couldn't believe some things.  Once I figured out that it was actually fiction, it made a lot more sense.  With that said, the writing was good enough to fool me a little bit that this was a memoir.  The author was/is an alcoholic and I think that is why her descriptions felt very true to that experience (from what I've read).  This is another book that made me feel compassion for characters that weren't exactly the best people.  I enjoyed this novel and was glad that I read it.
