A title for my all girls book club, The Lit Chicks, I enjoyed this book, although I did find the dramatization of the social strata a bit over the top. I double checked with my kids, and they agreed that it isn't as bad as the book depicts in our school. The main character, Lissy, is able to read auras, and when she arrives in a new town, she gains the ability to see the connections between people's auras, but she also discovers that someone in the school has an aura the color of garn, which means the person is souless and evil. Lissy struggles to find her place in the social structure of her new school, refine her abilities, and let go of people from her old life, all while trying to find out whose aura is garn and what that person has done to make him or her soulless.
