Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald by Therese Anne Fowler
3.5
emotional informative reflective sad slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

The first half of this book was very slow and, consequently, quite boring. While the book picked up in its second half and became more interesting in the second half, it wasn't enough to make up for the first half. The second half, though, is probably what brought this to a 3.5 instead of just a plain 3. I can definitely say that I do appreciate the care that Therese Anne Fowler seemingly put into writing Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald's story, and it is great that there is this book that chronicles (in fiction, of course) so much of her life, and not just her final years (with her final years being in and out of asylums).

The slowness is probably due to the exorbitant amount of care that Therese Anne Fowler wanted to use. But, ultimately, this book just didn't do everything that I was hoping it would.

I would still recommend it to some people, especially people who are fans of the work of the Fitzgeralds. There's nothing necessarily bad about this book. But yeah, this is just the rating that I landed on.
