The Darkest Evening of the Year by Dean Koontz

3.0

Okay, so I'm a Dean Koontz fan, although I don't read everything he writes. I'm mostly fond of his Odd Thomas series, although this one sounded interesting so I gave it a shot. It's a really entertaining read, despite the problematic denouement that went by so quickly and ridiculously that at first I thought there might have been some pages missing. Like many things in life, the buildup here is much better than the payoff.
