I really loved this book.
The bdsm side was a little bit like 101 - everything I've learned from various books with bdsm relationships in one place, plus a little extra. It really helped me deepen my understanding of Doms, Subs, and their dynamics.
The mystery side was okay. I mean, I had a pretty good idea of who the killer was (and the motivation)the moment they (finally) had the interview with him. But that's okay, cause I rarely find a mystery that keeps me on my toes till the very end.
What made me angry was the way Gavin seemed to act intentionally stupid.
So okay, your partner connects the dots. It was a pretty real possibility Damon was the killer. And ok, you didn't connect her suspicions with Damon's strange reaction to the erotic asphyxiation scene. Or with the fact he fits the initial profile.
But you ignore her instincts, and knowing the killer's MO, you had a meeting with him. Alone with your boyfriend. In a private place. Where you left him alone with your drink.
It just seemed to me like the easy way out to resolving the crime.
But other than that one detail (that managed to piss me off so much I had to take a break from the story), I think this was one hellava book, and I'm looking forward to reading the sequel!
