It’s got the characters and escalating layers of deception eventually culminating in international intrigue of the first trilogy down, but David Lagercrantz is no Stieg Larsson. There’s something missing, some extra layer of cleverness no pushing of boundaries of what humans are capable of. It’s not as challenging or engrossing and the heart of the characters have been replaced by a more accurate and cold depiction of computer science and mathematics. I’m sure some may even appreciate this book more than the originals because it’s easier to digest and more intellectually challenging, but I don’t. All that said, it’s a good effort and it’s nice to explore more about Lisbeth’s family, it’s worth reading for the big fans of Millennium!
