This was really interesting, especially as someone who is not connected to military life and can’t possibly understand what it’s like. This story is particularly unique because her husband’s decision to join the military happens after the establishment of their relationship, which I think provides a really interesting viewpoint. The community Simone builds in Georgia is strangely comforting and a good reminder that people really can endure and come together when they need it most. I learned a lot and felt this was really well-written.
