Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner

challenging dark emotional inspiring reflective sad fast-paced

5.0

Rating this other than 5 stars would feel outrageously wrong. The way Michelle approaches this memoir so raw and intimate makes me feel like she was born to write this.

I often feel like even when writing things that actually happened in real life, authors will dilute their experiences in order for them to sound more glamorous or pretty, even if we’re talking about death, but Zauner’s writing did everything but that, at least it felt like the anecdotes she tells us about in this memoir where as real as they can get, and laying your soul out like that requires not only guts, but a talent that Michelle has proven to have.
