American Sonnets for My Past and Future Assassin by Terrance Hayes

rly! !! still very good. a classic of the era , if I may be so bold

---------------
A really strong one I'm impressed I'm pleased I'm wondering if this has aged and will age well. Hayes has a brilliant, honed sense of cadence and serves the line often impeccably. My particular loves to the Sonnets starting 'I only intend to send word to my future', 'Rilke ends his sonnet ...', 'Our sermon today concerns the dialectic'

Also, of course, I really appreciate Hayes' emphasis on the wonderful James Baldwin in 'Seven of the ten things I love in the face'. More poets this way
