I don't know how to review this book. I genuinely don't. I feel like Piranesi was a metaphor. But too broad to whittle down to one subject. It could be applicable to so many. Maybe it's the subjectiveness of it that makes people love it. 

However, MY reason for enjoying it was more from an atmospheric perspective. I'm one of those lucky readers who can "see" what they're reading. And Susanna Clarke's descriptions of "The House" gave me a fully formed vision and it was fascinating. Absolutely beautiful with a mystical quality. 

Unfortunately, characterwise, I don't think I really had enough on Piranesi, 16, or The Other to actually build an investment in anyone's story, if that makes sense? I stuck around for the atmosphere and the setting.
