My main love of this book was that there were bits in Birmingham! Only Coe writes about Brum with affection and I love it (three guesses where I am from). But also, characters were ace, I especially felt an affinity with Sophie and thoroughly enjoyed following the character’s growth. I listened to this on audiobook while driving a lot and Rory Kinnear read it and he is truly marvellous narrator and I feel quite sure I would enjoy anything if he read it to me.
