Crime of Fashion by Emma Rosenblum
5.0
Another home run of a short story in the busy bodies collection. I liked how everything came together.
Full review: Well we get a little of "The Devil Wears Prada" with "Agatha Christie" in this one. I really liked how Rosenblum sets the stage as we follow Nellie, who is a closet assistant (yeah I think I got that right) who works at Elle and is at a photo shoot when a priceless Bulgari necklace goes missing. Though the necklace is found in the new magazine's editor in chief's bag, she quickly accuses Nellie. Nellie, who does not want to be out of a job, and also has a bit of OCD (okay a lot) investigates to save her job, but also, because she likes puzzles.
The whole story is a great send-up of fashion magazines and famous shoots galore. Nellie and her bestie at work, Charles were fun and I liked how Nellie solved the case. Though the ending leaves a fly in the ointment so to speak.
