I really liked this book, but I didn't absolutely love the ending. It felt like the author had built such high expectations, created this tension and high stakes, and then everything collapsed into nothing. I STILL LOVED THE MAIN CHARACTERS, JULIAN AND SCARLET ARE THE BEST! I'm a bit skeptical of Tella, I don't love her that much, so I don't feel a strong need to read the next one.
I adored the game, everything felt so real and magical. The dress description and places description made everything so amazing and magical. The writing style was so engaging, and... whimsical in a way.
I feel like I need to read the next one soon because I have many questions, but I don't love the idea of following Tella. I loved Scarlet, and I'm still a bit angry with Tella (I don't forgive easily as you can see).
I'd recommend this book for sure, but it isn't one of my favorites of all time. It was worth the read, and it was interesting enough that I'll continue with the next book. Again, the only thing that stood between this book and perfection was the ending. I felt deceived by the ending, it wasn't what I was expecting but not in a nice way, I hate this type of ending.
