ert3593 's review for:
Seven Days in June
by Tia Williams
DID NOT FINISH: 12%
I really enjoyed the writing in the parts of the book that I did read.
When I was pitched this book, it was pitched as "two authors meet again years after their last encounter and are both like 'stop writing about me'".
It seemed like a very lighthearted and fun read as pitched to me on Tiktok.
Within the hour I did listen, I found the following trigger warnings:
Chronic Illness, Recovering Alcholism, non-graphic attempted SA (unsuccessful) .
Now, if I had gone in knowing to expect that, I would have had a different experience. However, at the time I was reading this, I wasn't in a place to handle that content at the time. I can't honestly say that those themes are continued throughout the book, some of them I doubt would be(the attempted SA) .
It was clearly very well written and has been relegated to my TBR list as a "attempt when in a better place."
