Coraline
by Neil Gaiman
Fun fact: I reread this after listening to Paris, Texas by Lana Del Rey since it reminded me of the Coraline movie.
The book, however, wasn't as scary as I remember it being. I recall most of the events from the book, but it totally blurred with the movie after watching it 100x.
This book really is a masterpiece though. I think the movie is better... maybe an unpopular opinion.
The neglect Coraline gets from her parents is WILD in the book, they deadass don't give a shit about what she does and don't give her the time of day. I do love how important the cat is in the book though, this story is close to my heart since I hyper-fixate on it more often than not.
I LIVE for Coraline theories.
