Not Too Late: Changing the Climate Story from Despair to Possibility by Rebecca Solnit, Thelma Young Lutunatabua
5.0
hopeful informative inspiring reflective fast-paced

I love the premise of this anthology and how it was executed. The essays are all extremely digestible and short so it doesn’t feel like a slog to get through all the different points that the contributors wanted to make. The conciseness of each piece is masterful and much needed in that way. It is also well arranged, grouping by theme and stepping through the rational as well as the emotional, with a diverse range of perspectives from climate science, different -ologies, and Black and Brown and Indigenous figures. This strengthened my belief in organizing, community, hope, and grief as ways to approach revolution—not just for the climate but for all of humanity. I will be thinking about the lessons from this collection in my own activism and personal manifesto.

My favorite sections:
- An Extremely Incomplete List of Climate Victories
- Meeting the More and the Marrow: What Moral Anguish, Grief, and Fear Give Us by Roshi Joan Halifax
- The Asteroid and the Fern by Jacquelyn Gill
- Imagination is a Muscle, conversation with adrienne maree brown
- Packing (and Unpacking) for an Emergency by Rebecca Solnit
