Showstopper

I normally listen to the Peter Diamond books, narrated by the incomparable Simon Prebble. Alas, he is 80 years old now and doesn't seem to be narrating audiobooks anymore. So, I read this book in print.
It was pretty good and kept my attention. I don't remember Diamond being quite such a back seat driver in previous titles, and he makes a ridiculous and unbelievable rookie mistake in this book in the name of humor, I guess. It was a wrong note in an otherwise decent police procedural. There was also a "shades of Gone Girl" moment, but I didn't guess the killer. I always enjoy the Bath setting.
