If you are looking for a quick read that can be an entertaining, mildly spicy romance, you may enjoy this book. If you are looking for a well-developed fantasy with rich characters, I would not recommend this to you.

I read this in a day and enjoyed it, but I also recognized issues with it. I feel like the author was trying to be inclusive with certain characters, but they fell flat or were off putting at times.

The plot and world building have issues if you think about them too much.

I appreciate that the author was going for a strong badass heroine, but the believability of certain scenes was hard for me.

If you don't like Insta-love type romances, then this won't be for you either. I think it was supposed to be somewhat of a slow burn, enemies to lovers romance, but the two characters really wanted each other from the beginning.

The premise of the book was intriguing to me, and I like the videos I've seen from the author on TikTok, which is what got me to order the book.

The twist at the end was very abrupt. I figured there was going to be twist, but it was fast and ended on a cliffhanger. A sequel is planned, and I'm not sure if the author is going for an ACOTAR-type thing where the first love interest isn't the end game or if there's going to be redemption or what. I'm not sure if I want to read the sequel or not. I liked Ryon, but the ending makes me dissatisfied. I hate when romances have miscommunication or lack communication between the lovers.
