This is probably my favourite of the series so far! The concept of the iron tangle is very cool and I do feel like I mostly got my head around it by the end but it was very confusing for a while, though I get that it’s supposed to be. The reason I haven’t felt I can quote give this five stars is because there is a lot happening. The ,multiple events happening simultaneously mixed with the confusion of the tangle mixed with detailed descriptions about Carl’s projects made it very easy to get lost and once I again I had to read some summaries online to clarify what was happening. Mostly I don’t particularly understand what the final revelation was that Carl had that predicted the final battle?

Despite that though I really enjoyed this even more than the first two. Katia is a great edition to the team and it was awesome to learn more about and spend more time with other crawlers. Having most of the crawlers come together was really satisfying. Ellie is badass, her and Imani are probably two of my favourites. As much as I love Mordecai it was actually really interesting to read how they reacted to situations without leaning on him all the time, and as much as I love Jeff Hays narration-the frog impression was uncomfortable and I’m glad I only had to listen to it for some of the book.
