“I want women like Aunt Michelle to understand that it is not only women who look like them who are free who think and care about other women. That it is possible for two things to look similar but be completely different.”
What a beautiful story told in verse of a young Syrian girl who moves with her mother to America. This shows us her journey to her finding her true self and facing many different facets of being a Muslim immigrant in America. I absolutely loved this story and it was very cool that it took place in Cincinnati, where I live and even in the town I work and go to school in! Would highly recommend this quick, important read!
