First time reading something like this. Can't say I enjoyed very much, even felt like a chore at moments, but I wanted to get through it. Idk, just the feeling of reading a text so old, whether I enjoyed it or not, it felt something special, something more than just your normal book. I can't explain it, you either get it or don't.
Also, it's not all tedious. Contrary to many things I heard before reading The Iliad, the first few chapters (or books) were my favorite, when it wasn't all about fighting and stuff. It's the middle section which bored me. The last few chapters with Achilles were quite enjoyable. And I liked all the banter between with the Gods, especially their quarrel with Zeus.
I'll read the Odyssey, but I need a break. Reading them back to back would be insane.
