The Weird Sisters by Eleanor Brown
3.0

The book kept my interest, but I'm not sure I particularly liked it. I'm not sorry I read it, but I could have lived without reading it (if that makes sense).

The story meandered along, with nothing really compelling it forward, and everything was wrapped up all nice and neat at the end. I didn't really like the characters much, and I kept waiting for something important to happen or some important revelation, but it never delivered on that level.

That being said, I was never bored reading it. The characters were "real" enough, each with their own character flaws, which in actuality turned out to be their strength. The setting was vividly drawn and almost its own character.

The secondary characters seemed put in just to move the story along. I know they weren't really the focus of the book, but they also seemed like paper dolls just dropped into the story so that the main characters would have a foil to work against.
