My ongoing struggle to find well written and excellently executed character-bases sci-fi makes the gems I do run across that much more lovely, and this one is no exception. I won't say I loved the politics, cause I didn't, but the characters are all incredible and brilliantly flawed and human even as many of them are actually intuitively alien, and I will happily accept the politics if it means I can get more unwilling politicians like these.
