Beowulf: A New Translation by Anonymous

The story of Beowulf and a lot of the writing here is dramatic and compelling. That being said I want to read another translation because I found some aspects of modern slang incorporated by Headley jarring. Overall it was  inconsistent in tone and feel, and whatever intent of Headley’s to draw attention to masculinity in the text wasn’t interesting enough to justify what was a poor choice aesthetically and artistically.
