Kingdom of Sea and Stone by Mara Rutherford
3.0

As I predicted I was right. The villain didn't die in the first book. I knew it!
The setting is great, we kind of explored more about the world like meeting with the woman king and the Galethians. New exciting characters added and I have to agree that this is a pretty good conclusion to the series.

However, I didn't feel very satisfied with this one.
The plot didn't bored me out but I kind of expecting more from it.
It has a classic good ending with the heroes win and the villain died and defeated.
Most of the people died in this book are the ones that deserved it like the woman who accuse Nor's family and make their life like hell and Ceren. It's just too cliché...

I also would have like it more with a lot more character development.
While Nor's character has a great development but I can't really say the same for the new characters. I think it hasn't been fully explored like Roan and Adriel. Also characters from the first book that appear quite frequently almost never showed up again like Ebb and Sami.
Even though there's more interaction between Nor and Talin but, Talin's character is just the same old plain as in the first book, as a love interest I think he didn't feel that important in this series.

To be honest I kind of feel bad for Ceren though.. or maybe it's just my weakness when it comes to villains with sad or tragic background that forced or build them into being a cruel and twisted man.

Even though a lot more of the magic part is explained and introduced in this book however, it also rise other questions like how come Nor is a witch and why she wasn't affected with the bloodstone.

Overall I must say that despite the good ending, I still like the first book more than this one and I think it would have been a better stand-alone book.
