To Flame a Wild Flower by Sarah A. Parker
5.0

Rating: 5 heart-wrenching✨

LISTEN, this book was hands down one of my favorite reads of 2023. Already on the top 5 of the list (number one dare I say?)

This book & it's author put me THROUGH it & I wouldn't have it any other way. It delivered & surpassed all of my expectations. The revelations in Flame had me GASPING. I love how much more we find out in this book about certain characters & how we got to see into the minds of so many of them. Our morally gray characters (heroes doesn't seem like a fitting word) we adore & the villains. It made so many of the plot points just come together & click. We learn the background of certain characters, their decisions & why they made them, why they act a certain way. I LOVED that.

What I love about the Crystal Bloom world is that the characters are beautifully imperfect, some damaged & flawed. That makes you adore them even more & not only appreciate their journey but also makes their growth that much more fulfilling.

Orlaith? Gosh, I adore her. This book made my love for her grow more than I realized was possible. Her profound darkness & grief, the ache she lives with, I felt it deep within me too. I went on this painful journey with her, experienced her hardship, felt her guilt, the gnawing feeling inside of her that makes her wish she could turn back time. I felt such pride watching her evolve, finding that part within herself that had her FIGHT within it. The part that pushed her to get past her safety line & slowly start getting to know the part of herself that is a force to be reckoned with.

Baze and Kai still hold my heart, always. So many characters I ADORE. I would go to war for them & would go down swinging.

Reading this book, this series, was such a beautiful experience & I wholeheartedly recommend it!
