ezrataylor 's review for:
American Psycho
by Bret Easton Ellis
Simultaneously fascinating and disgusting, I was absolutely compelled by this book. Having watched the film a couple of times, I was interested to see what the original text was like and was taken aback with just how much more extreme and difficult to get through it was comparatively. Patrick Bateman's character is definitely more confronting when when through his perspective. I will not be rereading 'American Psycho' any time soon, but I'm glad I finished this year with a book that was really well written and interesting, despite how grotesque the subject matter actually was.
