Magnets

I’ve started and stopped this. Pondered and struggled with how to put into words the enormity of what this book means to me. Then after taking a deep breath, I realized I can’t. There’s no one exact right way that’s going to describe the indelible impact this family, this series, this world has had on my life, my head, and my heart. So I’m going to do the best I can to share my thoughts and feelings.

The Angst

Beware peoples, the yearning, the pining, the heartbreak, the feels are real. Thomas and Aiden unpack so much in this book and let me tell you their journey is hard to hear at times, and so worth the stumbles, the mountains, and the pain to see them finally find their way together.

“Don’t you get it? The only person who haunts my thoughts is you, Aiden. You’re in my head. Every day. A million times a day,” he admitted, taking a step closer. “At any given moment, at any time of day, you’re the ghost standing just out of view.”

Doesn’t this make your heart hurt so sweetly? I flove these two and am addicted to them. There’s nothing I would change about their perfect love.

The Teasing

Could anything be more amazing than all the Mulvaneys (and I mean every person who’s part of this incredible family) together and rubbing each other non-stop? Can’t think of anything else, neither can I. I adored the jokes, the snark, the comebacks, the snaps, and I have a new favorite phrase thanks to Calliope to describe Aiden and Thomas. I won’t share it as I don’t want to ruin your discovery but just know that PS had me spitting out my drink.

The Love

“You have me, Aiden. Even when I’m not right next to you…you have me. There’s only ever been you.”

Gah, so swoony, so undeniably perfect, so nnngh everything I wanted and more for these two. From Aiden’s name for Thomas to the moment that Thomas showed his family who he is, I am in awe. Earth-shattering is the best I can think of to represent my mind as I dived into their love. They are whole, they are real, they are life, and my heart is theirs for the taking with enough to go around a thousand times.

So no, there’s no going back to life before the Mulvaneys and I wouldn’t want to. Because following these boys, to quote Calliope, as they found love, happiness, and joy in their own bloody ways is the ultimate celebration of all that’s right with the world and romance. I will never forget them, will re-read them each year, and will continue to find new ways to love and cherish how they’ve changed my life. And thank you to Onley James for sharing them with us.
