Overall, this series was just okay. I think it could've really been something great had there been more magic and way less political intrigue (just my opinion). Perhaps it could've benefitted from more POV's other than Esha and Kunal. I often felt that their perspectives didn't serve much purpose in this book and would've liked to read something from Harun or Reha.

Unfortunately, there is no true epilogue in this book! The only characters that get a final send off are Reha, Esha and Kunal. Which sucks! Also...there were a few plot holes remaining that's gonna bug the heck out of me. Is Kunal's dad really alive? Does Esha ever find out Alok was the one to murder her parents? What of the reunion between Reha and King Mahir? There was such a big lead up to their meeting, but we never got to read how it happened! And finally, the Yavar. How can peace ever prosper between the countries with the way the bond had to be established? We get no real conclusion on any of these unanswered questions. It's almost as if the author ran out of time to complete the book and published it half done.

PS. I think this is the first (and possibly only) series I've ever read that doesn't feature any major character deaths. Of course all the bad guys kick the bucket. Usually you prepare yourself for the inevitable loss of the funny side character, or the misunderstood rebel...etc. But, it never happened!
