Atalanta by Jennifer Saint

3.0

i have very mixed feelings about this book.

Because yeah it's amazing to have mythical quests told by women who were ereased from them but the romance spoiled it for me. I'm not saying that Atalanta did not deserve love, far from that but come on ??? sleeping with a married guy and having very very little remorse about it ?? i don't know it felt out of character.

Maybe it's just that the book was too fast paced and did not allow for a very good character development ? Atalanta had many very interesting reactions to war, death, destiny and the Gods' involvement in humans' lives but we barely got to dig into her thoughts and feelings, it was just a scratch on the surface.

Also the whole love thing was so confusing because Atalanta never showed any proof of that either in her actions or her words so it felt like it was coming from nowhere.

Yeah i think it's just an issue of having more time to explore the complexity of this character and her relationship to Artemis.
