The Girl Who Fell Beneath Fairyland and Led the Revels There by Catherynne M. Valente

5.0

I'm going to have to go back and update my review of the first one. There are just so many inherent truths written into this adventure about love and growing up and all neatly packaged into the kind of book where you hardly realize the profound effect the words are having on you. Valente's style of writing grew on me, like I realized the magic of childhood but only after I stopped being one. It's probably my heart's fault, children being heartless and whatnot.

And the ending. I'll hold off on the spoilers. But the fact that the book ended that way and the next one isn't sitting at home waiting for me, is a serious problem. Hurry up UPS, I needs it.

And if you didn't read the bonus chapter with the wyverary having tea with the narrator, you missed out on something so quintessential, I want to plaster it on my nonexistent library's walls.
