Haunting Adeline
by H.D. Carlton
I rated this book 4*, due to its dark themes and spicy content. However diving into this book with the trigger warnings in mind, I dived into the world of Adeline Reilly and her stalker, along with learning about the mysterious vigilante Z.
Adeline is a character who is easy to understand, and yet she is still complicated enough to keep you reading and wanting to know more. Z, even with all the pieces scattered at first, he's an interesting character who is actually a good guy despite his methods, which are effective. He just needs cloning 50 times. Jay, my favourite hacker... he's a funny character to read, especially his conversations with Z.
The book contains plenty of plot twists and surprises. The characters are well written and easy to follow. Z definitely grew on me and became my second favourite character.
I'd recommend this book to those who aren't put off by the triggers, as the theme is quite heavy but seeing Z and Adeline interact when she's more comfortable is a sight to behold, along with Jay's funny comments.
I can't wait to read book 2.
