The Girls Are All So Nice Here by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn
2.0

TWs: on-page sexual violence, gaslighting and manipulation, cheating, extremely explicit language (I’m not a prude and can handle curse words used liberally, but in this book, the profanity is entirely overdone)

I genuinely really hate that I was entertained by this book. I read it quickly because I was engrossed in it, but I absolutely hated the main characters, and I would go so far as to label this book antifeminist based on its content. I’ve never read a thriller about mean girls, but it’s definitely my own fault for not expecting the internalized misogyny of these female characters.

I also saw the “plot twist” (If you can even call it that) coming from a mile away. If you’re going to make me read about women literally psychologically torturing one another, at least make it unpredictable.

Would not recommend to anyone, ever. The only reason it gets two stars instead of one is because the author’s voice is strong. The writing quality is high, but the plot and characters and literally everything else was the absolute worst. No thanks.
